Chhattisgarh was drag out on 1st November 2000 from the Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh. Raipur is the capital of Chhattisgarh. This name was driven on the basis of 36 forts in Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh is surrounded by the 6 states called Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Chhattisgarhi and Hindi both are the official language of Chhattisgarh. Mahanadi is the major river of this state.


Chhattisgarh is full of greenery and in mid of beautiful mountains. Most of the part of Chhattisgarh is hilly area. Chhattisgarh is full of natural resources which is beneficial for large industries. This is the reason why top most and big industries are interested to set up plants in Chhattisgarh. Its environment, natural resources and weather provide favorable atmosphere for steel plants, coal mines and thermal power industries. Big industries like NTPC, BALCO, S.E.C.L are having sites at Chhattisgarh.


This state is rich in mineral resources. Chhattisgarh is enriched with natural beauty. Hills, forest, waterfall, rare wildlife, caves, forts etc drags tourist’s attraction. Its an ideal place for nature lovers. The people of Chhattisgarh are fond of music and dance. Their Panthi, Soowa and Rauth Nach (a folk dance of the cowherds) are the popular dance styles of this state. You can find skillful arts from bamboos, jute, clay, wood etc. They are wonderful handicraft.
