Beautiful and colorful ‘Gujarat’ is one of the western states of India. Gandhinagar is the capital of Gujarat. Gujarat is surrounded by Arabic ocean, Pakistan, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Ahmadabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Junagadh, Jamnagar and Bhuj convince tourist to Gujarat.
“Father of the nation” Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi was born in Gujarat and most of the Freedom movements were held in Gujarat. The people of Gujarat are called Gujarati and also called gujju in short. There local language is Gujarati. Majority of people are from Hindu religion in Gujarat.
Gujarat is also loaded with Wildlife Sanctuaries. Pania, Mitiyala, Khijadiya, Gaga are some of the wild life sanctuaries who attracts tourists. Gujarat is full of Garden, lakes, beaches, Museums which are also the part of attraction.
Gujarati cuisine is almost vegetarian which reflects the position of Jains and Vaishnavas in state. You will find sugar in most of the Gujarati food. Daal Dhokla, Khandvi,Patra, Khakhra, Fafda etc are some of the famous dishes in Gujarat. Dance forms likes Dandiya, Garba and Ras are the most fascinating thing of this state. These all dances are dedicated to Lord Krishna.
Gujarat is also known for its handicraft works. Silk saris can be found in Pata and block prints are in Ahmadabad. Surat is famous for its Zari work of golden and silver thread. Woodcarving can be found easily at home and temples of Gujaraties.
With all these colorful specialties Gujarat has proven itself as “the land of colors”.
